Macollvie J. Neel is a writer and communications consultant. She recently founded Comms Maven L.L.C. to help motivated professionals and businesses tell their stories through compelling content. Having worked in journalism and corporate communications for nearly two decades, Macollvie is adept at using various storytelling styles to tie communications to strategic goals.
Macollvie has planned and implemented communications strategies for Fortune 500 companies in her roles as both a management consultant and an in-house advisor to senior leaders. As a director of communications at The Walt Disney Company and Metlife, Macollvie focused on executive and internal branding communications to support strategic initiatives. Prior, she focused on large-scale employee communication strategies and implementations for top brands. Clients she has served include Citi, Morgan Stanley, AIG, BNY Mellon, Pfizer, Allergan, Sanofi, Time Warner, Viacom, Verizon, and Publicis Groupe.
Macollvie started her career as a reporter at The Haitian Times and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. She has contributed to the award-winning Feet in Two Worlds: Immigrants in a Global City radio documentary aired on NPR and its companion blog.
Today, Macollvie writes and edits content about the communities closest to her, including immigrants, entrepreneurs, parents, consultants, and business communicators. She develops executive visibility strategies and content for select brands and often mentors entrepreneurs.
Macollvie holds an M.B.A. from Florida International University and a B.A. in Business Journalism from Baruch College – City University of New York. She lives in Brooklyn.
